Hi beautiful! <3
Now I don’t know about you but I STRUGGLED finding a makeup that wouldn’t leave my skin feeing dry, cakey and ashy especially on my brown skin. I think I have sensory issues cuz I also hate the feeling of heavy makeup on my skin and this makeup routine is CHEFS KISS! It’s the perfect everyday simple makeup routine you can do in 7 minutes(I’ve timed myself).
💄💋Makeup Routine: My go-to steps for glowy makeup that lasts all day
Step 1: Serum – Madagascar Centella Tone Brightening Capsule Ampoule

This step is crucial for that dewy makeup look. I love using a serum on my face before applying makeup to create a smooth, hydrated base. If you don’t have a serum, don’t worry—you can use your most hydrating moisturizer instead, which is perfect for giving dry skin that extra glow.
Directions:
Take one full dropper and apply it to a clean face. For those with dry skin, I’d recommend focusing on the extra dry spots for some extra hydration.
Step 2: Concealer – Too Faced, Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Concealer
Color: Butterscotch

This is a medium to full coverage concealer that lasts all day and doesn’t clog my pores. I can vouch for this because, honestly, sometimes I sleep in my makeup (it’s not my fault—removing makeup is like an Olympic sport!). But anyway, I don’t break out, which wasn’t the case with other concealers I’ve tried.
Directions:
Apply concealer in an upside-down triangle shape between my brows, below my chin, right under my cheekbones to carve them out, and under my eyes. When blending, make sure to blend the concealer down around your chin and mouth—this is especially helpful for my brown girls with hyperpigmentation (aka discoloration). For the under-eye area, blend the concealer out towards the sides of your nose, then gently outwards towards the temples.
Step 3: Powder – Huda Beauty, Easy Bake Blurring Loose Baking & Setting Powder
Color: Banana Bread

Huda absolutely demolished the powder game with this one. This powder blurs pores like it’s been hired by the FBI to erase all evidence of the potholes on my face. The Sephora girls in 2016 told me to skip powder because of my dry skin, but setting my concealer with this has completely changed the game for me. If you haven’t already tried it, do yourself a favor and get on it—then let me know if it changed your life too.
Directions:
Grab a powder puff and dab it into the powder, then tap off the excess on the back of your hand. Press the powder into all the areas where you applied concealer for a poreless, brightened finish.
Step 4: Bronzer – Saie, Sun Melt Natural Cream Bronzer
Color: Deep Bronze

This bronzer is the perfect shade for my skin tone—it truly melts into the skin like butter on hot toast. Blends like a dream and gives that effortless, sun-kissed look.
Directions:
Apply bronzer to the high points of your face where the sun naturally hits—your forehead, cheekbones, sides of your nose, and jawline. Sweep it along your temples and the hollows of your cheeks for a natural, sculpted look. Blend well for a seamless, sun-kissed finish!
Step 5: Blush – Essence, Pure Nude Baked Blush
Color: Berry Cheeks 08

A STUNNING ILLUMINATING BLUSH UNDER $10? IN THIS ECONOMY? (you’re welcome). Now, I have more expensive blushes, and ever since my homegirl put me on this one, I haven’t looked back. I love the shine it gives—almost like a blush and highlighter in one. This blush is super pigmented and looks amazing on all skin tones.
Directions:
Grab a medium-density blush brush and dip it into the blush. Tap off the excess on a surface. Sweep it across the apples of your cheeks, the bridge of your nose, and tap a bit on your forehead and chin for a cohesive, sun-kissed look.
Step 6: Cream Eyeshadow – Laura Mercier, Caviar Stick Cream Eyeshadow
Color: Modern Rose

I stole this from my sister years ago—it’s probably expired, not gonna lie—but it still gets the job done! I’m no eyeshadow expert, but this palette does all the heavy lifting. It makes my eyes look put together with minimal effort— I barely have to try.
Directions:
I dab this onto the inner corners of my eyes to brighten them up and make me look more awake.
Step 7: Mascara – L’Oréal Paris Telescopic Mascara
Color: Carbon Black

This is my favorite mascara—it makes my lashes so long, they sometimes hit my eyebrows! Plus, it’s from the drugstore, so my wallet is seriously grateful. I also make sure to snag it on sale, which happens pretty often at your local drugstores.
Directions:
Start applying mascara from the outer part of your lashes on both eyes, then move towards the inner corners where the wand usually has less product. This technique helps avoid thick, spidery lashes while keeping them separated and voluminous.
Step 8: Lip Liner – Rare Beauty, Kind Words Lip Liner
Color: Strong

I FOUND A DUPE! This is a dupe for the MAC Cork lip liner—a cool brown tone that’s a must-have in every makeup bag (especially for my brown girls). It’s super creamy and bendable, and I love that it’s retractable. The problem I’ve had with some pencil lip liners is that they can feel dry and sharp on my lips, but this one is smooth and easy to use!
Directions:
Line your lips with the lip liner, then gently smudge with your finger for a softer, more natural look, avoiding harsh lines.
Step 9: Lipstick – DIOR, Rouge Dior Forever Transfer-Proof Lipstick
Color: 100 – Forever Nude Look

This is the perfect nude for my brown girls. I love it, though I usually pair it with a gloss to deepen the shade a bit. It lasts pretty well too!
Directions:
Apply lipstick from the centre of your lips outward, then press your lips together to blend.
Step 10: Lip Gloss – Fenty Beauty, Gloss Bomb Heat Universal Lip Luminizer + Plumper
Color: Hot Chocolit

This is the first time I’ve ever finished a lip gloss. It’s my no-brainer gloss that suits any look. It has a plumping effect, and the thick formula lasts for ages on the lips. Plus, it looks so luxurious on deeper skin tones.
Directions:
Swipe onto the center of your lips and spread outwards. For extra shine, add more to the middle of your bottom lip.
And that’s it—your new go-to glowy makeup routine, brown girl approved! Give it a try, and let me know how it works for you. Drop a comment below or tag me on social if you try it out—I love seeing your looks!
Until next time, my loves! 💋✨
